"Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets.   I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them."  (Matthew 5:17)

As Isaias prophesied, those from Sheba will bring gold and frankincense to the King, Whom they will praise. (Isaias 60:6)

The Magi brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Infant King, and worshipped Him. (Matthew 2:11)

*  Gold was offered to Jesus to pay tribute to His royalty, and to designate the power of His majesty.

*  Frankincense was given to Him as a token of worship in honor of His divinity.

*  Myrrh was presented for the embalming/burial of Jesus' mortal Body.

CALL TO ACTION:  Be as the Wise Men by giving our Savior gifts of gold (our will), frankincense (fervent prayers), and myrrh (purity of body and soul)!
